I figured that since I needed to do a rotation before the dragon, I might as well go ahead and do some wheel waxing, and general cleaning while I was at it. Anyone else as anal as me?

Oh yea, rotated the tires about two weeks ago and did just about the same thing. Gotta give her the once over before the Dragon too. Nice!

I did a quick once over on mine yesterday, but a full detail will come in a few weeks. I needed to get some real Lexol on the dash and seats....don't believe the hype - leather wipes don't do jack for conditioning leather.

:tu: :tu: I think I remember something in my purchase agreement that my MA had to detail my Mini at least once a year.....I'll be by Sunday! :laff:

My detailing comes this weeked! I'm getting the old polisher out for a good pre-Dragon cleaning.

I spent the better part of 2 days this weekend going through my Suburban. It was filthy. It tends to not get washed as much as the Mini. I think the 3 yr old had dropped enough food to feed a small country. I didn't get it waxed, but cleaned the carpets, and gave it a good detailing and finished off with a coat of Slick.

I think I'm quickly becoming a Prima - Detailers Paradise fan. I picked up their Mystique, Clarity, Nero, and Slick with my NAM calendar discount. This was the first time I've tried them. We'll have to see how long they last, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Enough to be placing another order today. This was also the first test of the Paradise Monster Fluffy and Monster Fluffy MAX. Those are too sweet. My other microfiber rags feel like paper towels compared to these things. I started out just thinking I was going to Slick the hood, but got carried away and did the whole Suburban. I even hit the black trim with it and it looks great. I can't wait to hit the Mini with them.

Do yourself a favor and check them out.

not sure what JoMo used, but i would stick to a synthetic polymer wax like Klasse AIO.
It will hold up much better on the wheels than say a carnuba wax

they make wheel specific wax...check google or tirerack:tu:

I used the Resistal wax that we have at the dealership. The reason is because it lasts up to 500 degrees as where most waxes break down at 120 (I think). I gave your sisnlaw some.

when I went away one weekend for a wedding, my GF at the time (now my wife ;) ) cleaned and detailed my old CRX for me as a surprise (note - she did it). It looked so damn good I left in the garage for over a week and drove my Jeep instead. I didn't want to get it dirty and ruin all her hard work. :laff:

We can jam out there in my service loaner and leave the Beast at home. :D

So is Sunday the mod fest? We should tell Crash180 on MTM, I think he'll melt down if we don't help 'em get his parts hung. Of course he's got a full round of brakes to install which might exceed our time limits...

Ya think? I've got his plugin for the Boot LED Mod. I'm sure he'd like to have that before the Dragon.

Sunday? What time?

I waxed my new (to me) wheels just before putting them on, and got some excess tar off the insides while I was at it. I didn't know they made wheel specific wax though... Oh well.

My buddy's gonna detail my car tomorrow for Dragon. First wax job in a year. The Magnus needs it too. :crap:

Prime - Check out the Prima products. They've got some great stuff. I picked up a few things with my NAM calendar discount last month and just got around to using them last weekend on the Suburban. Monday I ordered doubled up on a couple of the products I alread have and added a few more.
Heather from DetailersParadise is going to be setting up at the Dragon. They won't have everything, but will have some of their products on display....and a carwash station.

So far I've tried :
Paradise Monster Fluffy - Got 2 and then 2 more!
Paradise Monster Fluffy MAX - Don't you wish you could get one....they're out
Mystique - Car Wash - Have a small bottle + a gallon
Clarity Glass Cleaner + Glass Cleaning Cloth - Works great - Reordered
Nero Interior Cleaner - Works great, shiny, but not high gloss - Reordered
Slick Detailing Spray - This stuff is SWEET! - Reordered

Arriving Friday for the Pre-Dragon detail
Swirl Polish - Moderate Abrasive Level
Amigo Polymer Glaze - Very Low Abrasive Level
Epic Synthetic Wax
Hydro Detailing Spray
Lake County Pads for my DA Polisher

Yes it is an obsession....I haven't found a 12 step program yet.
