to me a perfect rim has to be:

rare
light
3D
original
durable
sporty
elegant
smooth
aggressive

and...
has to fit a MINI :(

does it exist?

fikse... Custom made to your specs. Rare as all hell. Expensive as all hall... and gorgeous.

I believe gnatster has a set for sale or did. You won't find another mini with them afaik.

The reason I posted those is that you're pretty much never going to find the wheel you're looking for. If you want light and sporty, you're not going to get original and elegant, etc. Soo c'mon, narrow it down a bit... what is it you're looking for more specifically?

i thought of some rotas, ozs (which i've got) but from where i come from it's what everyone has...
i like stuff like:

what i also really liked, even it's not really my style, was konky's phonedials... an idea like that is.... the ****. havin something like that is better than havin a wheel that is all the things i mentioned in 1st post, but a rim that everyone has.... i guess i need a shrink, maybe i have an originality problem... :)

imagine havin these in 18" and some cool black finish

So the only real similarity to any of the wheels you posted was the dark color with a polished lip. Some of those wheels are light, some are not at all, some are nice, some are not so nice.

The Sportec's you posted are (IMO) the best looking wheel of the whole bunch. Do they come in 4x100mm with an offset between +35 and +45? What sizes?

I know from experience, buy the wheels you want the first time, even if you have to save a little longer. You'll be so much happier in the end!

a little odd, but i've never seen a mini with them, actually only seen the rims twice in my life. the modernist in me loves seeing 4 spokes for 4 lugs. only problem is they're "discontinued" and i think very difficult to find. light too though 14lb for 17x7

haven't seen those! i agree! the car person in me isn't sure about those inventions, but the art person likes the simplest ideas. i'm so curious how would that look. And if the spokes were black it wouldn't be so in-your-face and it would be like a detail... :mwink:

The last car you posted is pretty nice actually, and if I remember right he is the owner of Axis wheels. That's from the Sport Compact Car street car challange from a few years ago.

The Maglite is a cool idea, but it didn't sell well so they dropped it from their line. I thought about some too but the offset and width were too boring, I wanted something more aggressive.

I thought hard about a set of white mag-lites for autocross wheels when they were on edge racing's site. Never bought them, though.

Now, I seem to be using whatever light wheels I can get a good deal on. :D Appearance is way behind the usefulness of the size, weight, and price for me. Although, I have been thinking about taking the Centerlines I have to a wheel repair place to get them cleaned up and powdercoated white. There's some curb rash, some nicks, and a little bend on the inside of one. And whatever coating they used on the wheels originally sucks and is flaking off in lots of spots. But, they still hold the car off the ground. :D

I love those XT7's, the only thing that bugs me about gram lights, as well as a bunch of other wheels, is all of the raised lettering that is visible on the face of the wheel... why not put it somewhere else like most others do?

I had those in 15". I should have kept them, but put on a tire with a stiffer sidewall. Kumho Ecsta SPT were so soft, the car would shimmy when closing the doors. :laff: They did ride like a Caddy though
