View Full Version : Thinking out loud

SSR makes (made) the Competition wheel in a 17x7.5 5x100. Offset is (was) et50.

H&R makes a 4x100 -> 5x100 20mm spacer/adapter. They aren't all that expensive.

How would this look/fit? It would be 17x7.5 with an offset of right around 30mm. Would it have rubbing issues? Look goofy?

Thoughts and opinions. :)

It's gonna poke a little bit but i think you could probably pull it off

Konky has wheels of the same width and offsets that are close....he runs 205/40 and doesn't rub (got the tire size right this time :P). Yours will stick out a little more...but i bet you could pull it off.

I'd be interested in the adapter though.....i didnt think they could do 5x100 to 4x100....i thought we could just fit porsche fitments.

Dunno for sure - both the H&R site and VW guys talk about the 4x100 -> 5x100 adapters.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, adapter-wise. The 5x100 adapters would screw into the 4x100 hub holes, would they not?

Just for reference:

H&R DRA (lugs). These are a 5-lug fitment, not sure spacing (5x120, maybe)

H&R DRM (nuts). These are obviously a 4x100 -> 4x114 fitment pictured

you can pull them off, but I really advise using coilovers to make it look right.

why don't you just track down a set of comps in 4x100
the set i have are 17x7.5 42 off set no adaptors needed

I didn't realize they made that size.

I am also considering a few BMW wheels (5x120) but those would obviously need an adapter. And the RWD offset (et25) plus an adapter (20mm) is gonna require some fender flares to avoid excessive pokeage.

yeah BMW wheels have pretty low offsets to start with, so getting them to fit with adapters are almost impossible.

4x100 to 5x120 doesn't go as two of the holes will overlap :(
the only one piece 5 stud adaptor we can use is the porsche fitment 5x130 ;)
