I'm just wondering what would be the best all season tire? Something that works well in the snow.

Thanx

danny.

I haven't had all seasons on the MINI and don't really plan on it but I really liked the Yokohama Avid H4S' I had on my Civic before I traded it. They were decent in the snow and amazing in the dry and wet.:tu:

i should preach like minihune on nam about how there's no such thing as an all season tire, rather its a no season tire, but i guess it depends on where you live

tirerack has a very comprehensive list of all-season tires... in Ultra high performance all seasons, Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S is no. 1, availiable for 205/45-17

We run the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S on the wife's Bimmer and they have been a great tire with very good performance and wear, have the PE2's on the MCS!:tu:

If cost is a consideration, consider the Falken Ziex ZE-512. I've had them in the snow, and they are a very good all-season ultra-high performance. tire. I've been through several sets.

I am trying a set of Kuhmo ASXs on the MINI now, and the wife is trying a set of Falken ZE-912s (ZE-512 replacement) on her car. Haven't had either set long enough to try them in the snow or really wring them out in the dry (yet) but the reviews for both of those brands/types have been good from others.

They are a chinese tire company. They can be really good, or really bad.

Sorry I was in the middle of a converstion with a customer on the phone whrn I wote that. :P

May I add that a few of my delivery trucks (little Toyota Tacoma's) have those nankang's on them. They puncture easily, and I've seen a set last for less than 15k.....:thumbsdow

What's the beef with the Falkens or Kuhmos ?

I just had the Kuhmo ASXs in the snow for the first time, and I give them a "B".

Wife says the Falken Ziex 912s were "very good" on her car as well. And we just got a set of 4 in 215/45/17 from Discount Tire for <$300 mounted, balanced, and OTD.

You can't do better than that for an ultra high performance all season.

I've never had Falkens, but I love Kumho Ecsta MX. I've never run all-seasons on the MINI though, so I can't be of much help.
