The Mad Laboratory of Samtrak - 1990 R32 Skyline GTR 4 door

Project Name : GODZIL4

This is the car many enthusiasts wished Nissan had built. Everything about this car is GTR, and it has 4 doors! Originally a 1990 R32 Skyline GTS-4, this "4 door GTR" is a true bespoke vehicle. Consult and design help from MINE'S Garage in Japan, a private owner converted the entire car; the motor (RB26DETT FTW!), full drivetrain, full interior, entire front end, complete rear end, and even an all steel widebody, are all from a GTR donor. This one was done right.

The body is originally an R32 GTS-4 (HNR32-007711) which came with lots of the same running gear options as the GTR. ATTESA AWD, HICAS 4 wheel steering, and an RB20DET was OEM. The normal GTS-4 came with the narrow body, and those less favorable square taillights, but was the closest trim level to the GTR in 1990.

Imported by Japanese Classics in early 2016, this car was never offered to the public. The plan was to keep it as a shop car and show piece. I am the second owner in the US.The first owner purchased it from the Richmond, VA based importer and had it for 6 months.

This is the car as it came from Japan: (cept tires)

-KG1 Jet Silver paint (original color of car)
-RB26DETT
-Full GTR drivetrain with ATTESA AWD and HICAS
-GTR calipers
-Exterior Front and Rear body panels, hood, lights, bumpers from GTR
-Full Steel GTR wide body
-Full GTR interior, including rear seats, front seats, steering wheel, gauges,etc...
-RARE MINE's Garage coilovers (Ohlins)
-Aftermarket cluster reads up to 280kmh
-Authentic 17x9.5 +25 BBS LM 2piece wheels MINE'S edition
-BFGoodrich 255/40/ZR17 square setup
-Greddy Pillar Pods and Intake
-Oil temp, Oil pressure etc gauges in glove box
-3" exhaust not sure of brand
-Greddy piping
-R34 turbos
-Single Plate Racing Clutch
-Short Shift Kit
-Mishimoto FMIC
-Steel braided lines
-Polished valve covers
-Cusco bar front and rear upper tie bar
-Oil filter relocation and Oil cooler
-Blitz BOV
-EBC pads
-Stoptech Slotted Rotors and Pads
-Blitz turbo timer

My additions:

Montu Motors Torque Bias Controller
Driftworks RUCA gen2

The story is of this car stateside is just beginning...

Samtrak 11-29-2016 12:16 AM

you can get an R32 GTR already here in the US for 20-30k. condition varies wildly.

Thanks, I was wondering if it would be worth the hassle and upfront cost of picking one up and shipping one back to sell.

New to underground hi all.
Man that is a beautiful

CSMatt 12-12-2016 05:45 AM

This is winning on so many levels

maxmini 12-17-2016 10:33 PM

Well played young man :)

Samtrak 12-19-2016 06:00 AM

The torque bias controller was an amazing investment. Install was easy, and being in full control is much better than letting the 8-bit ATESSA decide what to do. I can retard the authority of the OEM system all the way to full time 50/50 AWD. Or push the fun :) button, which makes the car RWD only and with no ABS.

For Christmas some Driftworks R32 rear upper control arms RUCA are on the list....Its the same exact 4 arm suspension as the Z32 and the S13.
not my car, just a pick to show the product.

I has envy...

Samtrak 01-06-2017 06:32 PM

busy busy winter mods on the R32!

took out the old and rare Mine's Edition Ohlins coilovers. they are going to be tricky to get rebuilt, so in their place will be a sexy new set of MeisterR coilovers. also getting a new "to me" set of GTR seats in better condition than the ones i have on the car now. yesterday when the coils were out, was also a great time to install the Driftworks rear upper camber arms (RUCA).

later this month some nice black paint on the visible non polished part of the brake rotors. the front bumper and lip will be getting a fresh coat of KG1, Jet Silver Metallic.

*update* successfully traded my old Ohlins for a mint set of GTR seats in better condition than the ones currently on the car. :)
