Looks a hell of alot better than the old eBay one they used to sell.

I still think $325 is stretching it. Looks good though.

Saw a similar (tho non CF) one at San Diego at last autocross. Looked good, but seemed to have flimsy mounting. How's this one stuck on?

Sounds like you saw the strassentech one which is bolted on along with sticky tape

The PU product just uses tape...

midnitecoop 12-06-2007 09:48 PM

This has been refined since the first generation.
Was just talking to the guys at PU today.
It has a recessed lip with a double sided adhesive.
Sits flush to the OEM wing.
Since it is a fixed carbon fiber piece it is rigid and sits well once in place.

yup, the one larry's talking about is couupers's. but i dont think he has any screws running through it, just the sticky stuff

The Strabentech does not fit flush end to end.
It's also about twice as expensive.

OldnSlow 12-06-2007 09:57 PM

So, I see this one on MINI mania for $400, the Strassentech one is $800? Isn't that the cost for an M7 CF wing replacement?

He's exaggerating to promote his part.....the strassentech is 600 in CF 400 in FRP.

It doesnt go end to end...but still follows the stock lines

These prices are why there aren't more of these bits on my MCS. Would rather have FSD's or other suspension bits for this kind of $$.

glnr13 12-06-2007 10:06 PM

true the strassentech does not fit flush end to end but it does stick out with more "lip"... is it really $800?! that doesnt sound right

JoMo 12-06-2007 10:06 PM

No thanks, for that kind of money I'll stick with this.

Trying to charge anything over $100 for a STICK-ON part is crazy in my opinion. You could get a full CF aero spoiler for cheaper than a small little stick on piece

I'm not a spoiler person at all...but for 400-800 bucks, i would expect a full spoiler for sure.:tu:
