Looks sweet with the color coding :tu:

xxTHIR13ENxx 06-22-2006 04:33 PM

Aaahhh.. So here is where I was 'posed to post!! I was trying this exact same post on the 'Lineup' section, and after 3 tries I gave up. lol. I'm glad it made here, though - did I tripple-post by mistake? I hope not...

Rally - Thank you! I've seen pics of your car, and when you compliment mine, I feel really good! lol. Splitter will be the NKB, of course. I'm debating now if I should get the ALTA headers first, though. It's almost same price.

Thank you everybody for all the kind words, it really makes me feel welcomed. After years on NAM, I think it's time to spread my wings a bit and go to almost every club available, and I've seen some sweet rides from here, and decided to stop by. Somebody was asking about a mod-list, right? Well, this one is also "a little old", but I'll try to update it with everything.

Exterior:

"THIR13EN" European front plate
Body-color painted trim
Factory body-kit rear apron
Factory body-kit side-skirts
"SPORT" emblem in trunk/boot
Clear light side-indicators
Chrome side-indicator housings
Chrome honeycomb patter front grille
Custom mesh-grille top air-vents
Custom mesh-grille fog-lights cover
European style rear lights (white turn-indicators)
Orciari 3-piece rear-wing
Short antennae

Interior:

Racing inspired diamond plate floor-mats (front and rear)
Racing inspired heel-toe pedals
15% limo-tints (all around)
Interior chrome toggle and speaker pieces
Cooper S sport seats
Sony X-plod speakers (front and rear)

Performance:

MyMINI Sport exhaust
Cobalt cold-air intake
Magnacor spark-plugs
Fidanza short-shifter
Racing Dynamics front strut bar
Pilo Racing rear strut bar

Wheels & Suspension:

17"x7.5" ASA LW5 (white) wheels
H&R lowering sport springs
Cooper S rear sway bar
EBC GreenStuff brake pads
StopTech direct replacement rotors

(Not So) Soon to Come:

NKB Power front splitter
Throttle body (from M7tuning)
Headers (possibly ALTA)
ECU/MTH upgrade

The thing I'm most proud about is the fact that when we got the car in '02, it was absolotutely stock, and very plain, with no packages, no sport-seats, nothing, literally none of the factory options. So everything that was done to the car was done by my according to my taste, so everytime somebody says "nice car", or "clean ride", it really makes me feel awesome!

Thanks again, all.
Leo.

I thought i posted on this last night... but it lookslike i forgot to hit post...

Well what i posted last night was...

"Super sexy painted artches!... i love that look!"

RFIbanez 06-22-2006 05:48 PM

Hot Cooper! I love the painted arches.

Rally 06-22-2006 10:09 PM

hey, do you have any pics of the euro rear tails on your car. I want to see what they look like on a red cooper :tu: :tu: Thanks in advance :D

All you gotta do is "ax"...

http://www.sunshineminis.org/gallery...w%20Lights.JPG

http://www.sunshineminis.org/gallery...2B%20Sport.JPG

And I forgot to update the mod list with the final addition: angel eyes, but the LED's are way too blue and do not match the headlights at all, so I'm gonna change that to whiter/yellower lights.. Then some pics, if I ever clean the car...

Thank you again all for the kind words!

PS: Rally, I hate you, because of this thread, you've made me confused again! Because I right-clicked on the pictures there, found out about delta-mini, and saw THIS:

http://www.delta-mini.net/photo/CA0013-d.jpg
http://www.delta-mini.net/photo/CA0013-c.jpg

Now I want to find out more about that splitter because I'm torn again! "Need Help Deciding (part III)" here we go... I think that one is for S only, though? No?

Anyways, I'm just playing, you know some crazy sites there, man. We should be friends! lol...

Take care,
Leo.

Rally 06-23-2006 02:00 PM

hahah imagine how hard it is for me!!! i know of all these cool places but never can get any of the parts :p :p

I will look into that lip and let you know haha.

I still love the NKB lip for your car though :tu:

And thanks for the rear light pics. Those definitely look hot

Rally 06-23-2006 02:08 PM

Ok did a little research and it looks like that is an MCS-only lip. It might fit on the cooper...but wouldnt really look very good

This should help your decision...this is the one that fits on MC's...yikes

http://www.delta-mini.net/photo/EX0001-c.jpg

Konky 06-23-2006 03:25 PM

:yuck:

xxTHIR13ENxx 06-23-2006 05:39 PM

Oh yeah, that helped A LOT! lol. Looks ridiculous. NKB it is...

But I still don't get it... how come it wouldn't fit on the Cooper? What is the main difference between the lower parts of the MCS bumper and MC bumper? I don't think it would be enough of a difference for the splitter not to work.

Same thing with the Hamann splitter, MCS has one style, MC has a different one... Anybody know if the connecting points are different or something?

M7 doesn't have a different splitter for MC and MCS. They have the Aero one, too, but fits both cars, right?

Thanks again, though.
Leo.

hmm kinda hard to explain. You would definitely see it if you saw the two cars next to each other.

The thing about the cooper bumper is that the lower lin (the lip) kinda smiles. It goes upwards on both ends. The MCS bumper is much more flat across the bottom (although still goes up a little at the ends). So when you attempt to put an MCS splitter on an MC bumper....it doesnt sit flush all the way across the bottom like it would on an MCS bumper.

Does that make sense?

the M7 CAN be put on the cooper...but it wont really sit flush, and would look bad in my opinion.

the hamann for the cooper is an actual replacement piece for the front lip trim....so it cant be used on the MCS. The MCS one can fit on the MC bumper....but i really dont know how the fitment would look.

It's all about that bottom line, and how it would flow with the flatter MCS lips.

Chase 06-23-2006 10:26 PM

looks great man

xxTHIR13ENxx 06-24-2006 06:26 AM

Thanks Chase!

And yeah, Rally - it makes sense.

Hopefully I'll get that NKB one and won't have to worry 'bout it too much. lol

Take care,
Leo.

PS: What's your name, man? Or am I to call you "Rally" all the time?

Andrew :)

Here is another one that i don't think we've talked about. It might be a little easier to get...although it's still a japanese company. It molds nicely unlike the stick-on look of the hamann. But is definitely a little more subtle than the others.

I assume you have found an importer for NKB? If not i know of one

http://memoryfab.com/products/aero/imglarge_601_1.jpg

xxTHIR13ENxx 06-24-2006 10:56 PM

Hey Andrew - thanks man.

I knew about the Garbino - yes. That was in the "Need Help Deciding (part I)" forum on NAM. lol.

Was in between Garbino and NKB. I knew about memoryfab, yes. I've been speaking to Orie for months now and I've actually even gotten a discount on there! (shh).

Thanks again,
Leo.

PS: Even though memoryfab is located in CA, the parts are still importated, so the shipping is still lots of $$... Oh well... just need to save up.

Rally 06-25-2006 05:17 AM

rock on.....can't wait to see how it turns out :tu: The NKB lips will be hot.

So how did you go about getting the arches painted? Know a painter or did you just go to a bodyshop?

xxTHIR13ENxx 06-26-2006 12:03 AM

I asked around a little bit, and Pete (myminiparts.com owner) told me about his friend's shop in Pompano. Called B&R. Good service overall, but a little later than what they told me originally (about 3 hours, but I was angry anyways. lol).

Did service with them twice, also go the Orciari wing painted there, but that was a problem! They assumed that the wing was to be painted the same as the arches, so when I got back, it was red. So I told them to change the color again, of course, and charge me $50 less. The lady was angry, but I didn't care. So I paid $200 for the paint + install of the Orciari wing. Not bad, I don't think.

I'm hesitate to see if I should go back there for the NKB lip or find someplace else. I liked the way things turned out there, but not much of the lady in the front desk... We'll see.

Take care,
Leo.

PS: Know any other places in the US that sell Japanese import stuff for the MINI?

Rally 07-08-2006 11:30 PM

check it

all red with the NKB lip(i will find better pics)

stoopidgirl 07-09-2006 02:53 AM

yep, nice and clean...good stuff indeed. Welcome to the M/U :)

xxTHIR13ENxx 07-09-2006 05:07 AM

Thanks Stoopid... *pulls you aside* I've been admiring your pictures everywhere, and the hot-pink Cooper is da sh*t!! Mad props.

Rally: I've seen those pics all around, man. I've been to hosokawa.co.jp on a daily basis now and I've pretty much taught myself all the links there! lol. Sick, I know.

The red car: not sure if it's the NKB, it looks too skinny at the bottom piece, the orange car is NOT the NKB, it's much more round on the corners, but still looks nice, but not 100% my taste. The NKB, I don't know why, looks awesome in many angles, but not as a close-up... It's weird.

Here's another:

http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...INI_Japan_.jpg

Just pretend the wheels are still very close to the car, there's no dude underneath the car, no cables/cords/etc all around it, it's on a very nice, straight road and there's no "tv" thingy where the plate should be... That about sums it up for a nice-ass pic... But the lip still looks good, in my opinion!

Take care,
Leo.

Lucky13 07-09-2006 08:53 PM

i like that little lift =)

Rally 07-09-2006 11:38 PM

That would make life so much easier. I want one

xxTHIR13ENxx 04-16-2007 04:30 PM

New custom/home-made fog lights... Cost about $15, but doesn't look like it...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...FogLights1.jpg

Take care,
Leo.

PS: I still need to wash the car and post about those side-reflectors, don't I? lol... Workin' on it.

glnr13 04-16-2007 04:40 PM

lol. Those were not included in this cheap mod... That I got a while back, costing me $85 from mossmini (when they first had them, it was on special). And to make it look "yellowish" to match the rest of the non-xenons, I just used the stock little bulbs...

Let's just hope they don't burn twice as fast as the LEDs would... hehe.
Leo.

glnr13 04-16-2007 05:04 PM

ahhh.. i get it now. sorry, 2 pints makes for poor reading comprehension :P
