I still am not crazy about the "flame treatment" Bangle is doing, though the 1-series seems to be the least offensive out of the model lineup. It's hard to tell when a car is in black, as the dark colors mask the lines. I'll wait until I see a lighter color in person to pass judgement

I have been itching for a true e30 replacement for a long time. Here's hoping this fits the bill.

Do you know what the 128 amd 135 will weigh?

somewhere between 2900 and 3000 lbs would be my guess. They haven't released anything that I could find with the exact number, so that is based on the current 1 series hatch weights.

unfortunately they didn't let us drive it. I'm expecting there to be a 1 series driving event in december or so... prior to the launch of the car. I'll let everyone know about it once that happens :)

TRW, as our resident BMW connection, are you going to have the hook-up come Spring? Any estimates on price point? I think this looks like something I'd be willing to make a little road trip for!

Hey MINImort, We should coordinate some sort of meet at one of the Northeast dealerships - or something - this is going to be some BMW, from what I hear... thoughts?

I expect the 135 to be around 36k. the 128 will probably be anywhere from 26-28 to start. They have to price it just higher than the MINI but not so high that it eats into 3 sales.

and the second I get a launch car for customers to drive I'll let you know. I'll be happy to hook you guys up when the time comes. I do, however, expect them to sell at MSRP for at least the first year or two. I guess we'll see.

Dude, which dealership are you at? I will definitely have to plan some sort of roadtrip down to Philly around the launchdate... perhaps we can generate interest from some folks around here that are on M|U? Mort, you up for coming to Connecticut and then we travel down to Philly??
