Different pad depths or different lip/barrel combinations.

What condition are they in, 2100 is a lot for RSs but it's not way too out of line.

these two links are of the fill and drill.

Rally 02-19-2013 10:15 PM

Kinda ghetto fill and redrill, but not terrible. My guess is VR wheels.

Wheels themselves look to be about stock quality. I wouldn't pay 2100 for them, personally.

Mini_Chan 02-19-2013 10:20 PM

Thanks, I would probably need spacers too if I want to use these right?

Rally 02-19-2013 10:23 PM

I don't know, you never stated the width.

Mini_Chan 02-19-2013 10:30 PM

oh they were 17x8, how much would you say those are worth?

Rally 02-19-2013 11:15 PM

I don't think you'll need spacers, but you'll probably want them for the et43 wheels.

I'd pay around 1500-1700 for those maybe.....that's just me though. Maybe higher if he has the tires on there that you want.

Mini_Chan 02-20-2013 12:08 AM

The tires on those are Yokohama s drives idk if those are any good. But yea idk if I want to pay this much because I'm going to have to end up painting them

rickyr53 02-20-2013 03:42 AM

Any set of RS's will need work if they are not already refurbished/built. You have to know what your getting yourself into. If you do get that set tho i have the 1/4 height hex that is missing that i could sell you.

Mini_Chan 02-20-2013 02:27 PM

I know most RS need work, but I'm just saying 1500-1700 for them and then putting more money into them doesn't make it a good investment.

It does if you finish them nicely. :tu:

For 2100, the lips should at least be polished and the centers clean. That's getting into refurbished price territory.

IMO stock RSs are worth 1200-1600 considering how readily they are available these days. It's not like back in 06 when finding RSs was hard.

Mini_Chan 02-20-2013 11:12 PM

so i found these on vwvortex do you guys think its a good price?

He got those from VR Wheels. So personally, I vote you buy some 16x7, 16x8 RS' from VR Wheels for roughly $800 and have them redrill them for like $250? and just finish them yourself the way you want them. Or just pay someone to do it if you dont feel like messing with it. You could send all the lips off to VIP Modular for high polishing for a really good price.

There is no doubt about that. It would be stupid to pay that much for a stock set of RS's. I was just trying to get the point across that if he does find a cheaper set of RS's that they will most likely need work.

rickyr53 02-21-2013 04:50 PM

I almost cooper plated my centers last year. These look good!

I love the look of copper plated centers, I've just never seen a car that they look good on or match. Maybe a BRG car or something...

nathanrw 02-21-2013 07:49 PM

I'm fully polishing my faces for the spring. ;) hopefully they turn out good.

rickyr53 02-21-2013 10:02 PM

Full polish will look good, but if that were the case i would just chrome them haha

x2 We have Chrome RSs with Chrome lips here at the shop and they look great.

I would never want to deal with the maintenance of polished RS centers....I hate polished lips enough as it is :P At the very least, get those parts clear powdercoated so you're not stuck polishing for hours each week.

Does VR Wheels usually carry them in stock because I haven't seen any staggered sets on their site. The only ones they do have that is staggered is drilled both 4x100 and 4x114.3 and they want 1300 for those. But if they usually get more in stock then I can wait for a set to come up.

heres how they look

rickyr53 02-21-2013 10:51 PM

Give them a call and ask if they will have any coming in.

Rally 02-21-2013 10:54 PM

You can also just ask them to make them staggered. That's the beauty of 3 piece wheels. Just toss on wider lips or something.

Yeah I actually just got through emailing Rotiform and they said they would chrome dip for $600. Stripping and fully polishing is $500 from VIP Modular. Definitely doing chrome...

Yeah they get new sets in all the time. Just have to keep checking back. Or do as Rali said, just email them and ask them to make them to your specs. Sure they will cost more, but they'll look nice when you get them in. :tu:
Or you could just look at the 5x114.3 ones and do a 5x114.3 to 4x100 redrill for $250. That usually tends to be a couple hundred cheaper.
Edit: Just looked on the site and they don't really have any in stock right now (on the site at least). Just shoot them an email and see what they say.

Mini_Chan 02-23-2013 04:23 AM

Yea I emailed them yesterday, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Yeah I emailed them yesterday too about an entire RS center piece and they haven't replied yet... Usually they're on top of it and reply same day.
