Yea KW v1 and ST are identical drop wise. You won't need 4 inches just to close up wheel gap though. I think about 2 inches will close it up pretty nicely which I believe ST and KW v1 are plenty...

Schmidt modern lines come 16x9 and 16x7.5. I think they sell them et25, for like $300 each. A lot of mk3 vw guys run them so a second hand set shouldn't be hard to find
