Question Wiper blades

dose any one know what kind of wipers come with the MINI from the factory?
I'm looking for replacement ones that have the air dam on the front to push the blades down when driving. Also is that air dam a peice of the wiper or the arm?

Thanks,
F.G.

the dealer replaces the blade only. you can buy just the blade but it is a pain to slide it in.

I didn't think it was too bad to swap out the inserts. For me, the biggest risk was slicing off my thumb with the scapel I used to make releasing the old inserts easy. Of course only after finishing the first blade did I realize the handy plastic tool was included in the refill kit that makes removal and install mucho easier.

Price was right too, I think I paid ~$6 for the front set.

Anyway, more specific to the wiper arm air foil - that actually snaps into the wiper arm (you can see how it attaches when viewed through the windshield). I think the entire assembly is in the $30 range if memory serves correct...

Never looked into mounting on another type of arm, so that's uncharted territory...

With my last Mini I just replaced the whole wiper with something cheap from my local auto parts store. Worked great!

avoid the single blade type wipers like the Bosch Icon or Valeo. I'm a big fan of the Icon's from my Subaru, but the design doesn't work with the MINI's windscreen. The curve is too much and the blade doesn't sit on the glass across it's length.

I think Bosch does the OEM set. I replaced mine with PIAA silicon blades a couple of years ago and they just now are wearing out.

These are great wipers. A little pricey, but worth it. I have them on my 3 series & will put them on the Mini when I need some.

Yeah, I put beam blades on my wife's Suby. Worked great in snow and rain.

Those look alot like the Bosch Icons I have on my MINI and my wife's RAV4. As PGT mentioned, the Icons work well on some cars and not so well on MINIs. How about getting some for your MINI today and let us know how they fit!

is your airfoil attached to your arm or wiper?

I was wondering if they just sold the airfoil for just the wiper arm not attached to the actual wiper itself.

thank you all for your support and happy motoring.
