That's cool that you're just about having fun. Enjoy it. I'm not about people making cars that fit into styles....I'm just about people making cars that are designed well....not cars with mods for the sake of mods or mods that just don't fit with the car.

Theme's are cool if you can integrate it into the rest of the car....but if it stands out too much, i dont see the reasoning there.
You and I aren't that far apart, probably. I think hondas with giant wings and weedeater exhausts are just ridiculous. A Kia with those features passed me the other day and I shadowed it for a while just so I could laugh at it. And far too many MINI owners are into modding so they have the "cool stuff" - all my stuff was done with a functional or theme purpose - or a little bling - but nothing just so I could say I had it (like a LOT of "performance" mods are).

That said - I love the whole "you-ification" thing - different is fun, even if it's something I wouldn't do myself. That's why I like Nano - it's different. It's not trying to be a full custom HIN type car. Just different (and "fun").

What doesn't integrate about 20+ UJ's on the car? It's a big moving box of Union Jacks... that's integrated...

By the way - I think the vinyl on the cabrio several posts back is pretty heinous...

I mean i like where you're going....i think that maybe if you used the car color blue in the flag and maybe a darker red it could look a bit more integrated. Kinda like my friends' car, sprog....i'm pretty sure you know jer's car right?

With that said....i dont really have a problem with your car. I dont necessarily like the blue neons....but if he switched it to orange, lowered the car, and maybe got some wheels....i might like that.

Good thoughts. Problem with Cool Blue is you can't match ANYTHING to it... cause it's such a funky pearl changing color... I'm working toward having the UJ blues (stripes, grille, accents) match better - but that's challenging with so many different makers, inks, etc. I like the idea of darkening the red - but the same problem with all my other UJ accents...

I LOVE sprog - and love the blue it uses - wish all my accents could use that blue, but not easy - actually easier just to paint the whole car...

So to sum up the last page and a half:

A lot of us on MotoringUnderground.com share similar views on style, yet we also appreciate that others have their own views on what does or does not look good. However, since you are on MotoringUnderground.com, you'll get the MU opinion, whether you like it or not, whether you agree with it or not.

...And now back to the ugly, the fugly, the horrendous, the "unique"....

Saw that "SXEMINI" on NAM. Is it a Baja Pre-runner?

have you heard the new findings?? basically putting any kind of lowering spring onto an r56 results in instantly riding on the bumpstops.....thats how little travel they have. The springs dont even lower the car that much

OK - even *I* think that's fugly high.

Maybe you guys are starting to bring me around...

and nicely said, Drew - fair 'nuf. That's why I'm here after all - to better understand m|u's sense of style...

I can always start my own forum (maybe call it "motoring way overground") for fellow fugly owners who like their massive gap.

Then we can make fun of shaved, low, wide, stretch and poke.
