and my "loaner mini" was a 2006 royal grey automatic base cooper. I see why most of you with coopers are now buying "S"'s. That thing was a dog, I almost got killed pulling out into an intersection!

Way OT here...
Maybe I missed it but, why did you need a new clutch & flywheel?
And what was up with your brakes? Mine squeak pretty often.

I had this issue, that every time i was in neutral with my clutch not engaged, it made ticking sound. So i called up the dealership and they said they'll fix it, I also noticed last time i swapped my wheels, my pads were getting low, and since they're covered under warranty, I just told them to check them out for me. I guess they were pretty low, to get new rotors too

So yesterday i get a phone call saying my car is done and what was replaced or fixed. I asked, did you just fix the clutch and flywheel or replace it with a new one? He said they replaced it with a new one, said that the newer models have upgraded parts in theirs, and instead of going backwords and keep replacing it, they put the newer upgraded ones in. I'll tell you what, this new clutch and flywheel is soooo much different. ALOT lighter and not as springy, i shift smooth as hell now. Riding with me feels like an automatic!

Still Way ass OT...
Sounds sweet. What year is your car? And are brake pads covered under all MINI warranties or you got something special?

Yeah, brake pads are covered under warranty. When your brake pad warning light comes on you can go to the dealer and they'll give you new ones free.
