Beginning of that "rest", R56S exhaust with some more sound effects... always thought the Playmini to be too quiet for my taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20Hj4wLLavM

(please excuse the vertical video, wasn't shot by me)

The sidemounts that came with the Cobra Suzuka don't fit the MINI-rails easily, so some tinkering is required... Or I'll try to find a set of Corbeau mounts, those seem to do the trick.

Some more updates...

New topmounts by Eibach. Same kind as I had fitted before for some more camber, but the bearings on those were shot:

Thanks! Turns out the discs are the same left/right, so no need to swap...

Front wheels re-balanced (because of the weights placement due to the brakes):

Fitted the Cobra Suzuka Pro... bolted directly to the floor, as the OMP-rails were useless. Sucks for others, but I'm fitting perfectly. Would prefer a slightly smaller steering wheel though, so thinking about a 330mm (OMP Targa Suede or similar).

After that I took it for a spin to fill up, hadn't driven it for over a year... and it still feels great! Gotta love the steering feeling and it pulls nicely with the new camshaft and header. Bigger brakes feel lots better and the exhaust sounds great as well. Throttle feel a little lagy though, so gonna have it remapped in the future.

So today I went to pick this thing up after more than a year, my MINI-mechanic is a hero!

Click the image to open in full size.

Quickly fitted the OMP-wheel and an iPhone-6-mount and went on the 100 mile drive home!

Click the image to open in full size.

OMG, this is terrible... so unsuited for longer motorway drives, hahaha, can't understand why I did this on a daily base. No wonder I got fed up with it!

Went for a slight detour with some twisties, and that ws way better. Did have to get used again to the mobile rear end though...

As soon as I got home we went for a drive. YES, THIS IS FUN!!! General hooning, attacking roundabouts, etc. Awesome! Got a thumbs-up by a random dude as I sat revving for a traffic light like the little child I am. Genius, this car has gotten even more fun with all the new mods!

Only got some phone pics for now, didn't take a proper camera with me.

Cargo net fits nicely, only have to sort a raised floor for the battery some time:

Short video, again in phone quality, but you guys will survive I guess...

Good stuff.
I know yours is originally just a Cooper so I don't know how that impacts a steering wheel change compared to my S but how do you get the horn to work on the aftermarket OMP? I'm interested in a different steering wheel myself, to get it a bit closer to me.
