Default Wine

There is a Beer thread, so I figured that we should have a wine thread also.

One of the things to discuss should be where to get good wine.

I have a few wine club memberships around the country, 2 in Cali, 1 in Oregon and 1 in NY. so I get about 13 bottles of wine from them every quarter.

Recently I have also been using a site called Underground Cellar. The model is cool because they put together groups of wine, all worth different amounts. one might cost $27 and go up to $95/bottle. but you decide the number of bottles that you want to buy at the base price. After you pay you find out what bottles that you get. so if you pick 4 bottles you will pay the $27x4. but you could get 2 $27 bottles and a $45 bottle and a $95 bottle.

They also have a Cloud Cellar where they will store the wine that you purchased for free. When you want to have it shipped they only charge $5 for 6 bottles or free for a case.

Use this link and we both get a credit after you make your first purchase.

My go to option.

I don't think I have the palate to know good wine anyways... I just know I tend to like reds and haven't found any whites I like.

If you're a fan of bold Pinot Noirs, check out my girlfriend's label. She's the winemaker, and they're absolutely amazing. Big fan of the 2012 Gaps Crown, although if you can get your hands on the 2010, it's very special.
