I'll be here until the quit paying the electric bill and turn off the water. I can't stand Social Media. It's impossible to have a build thread or anything topical. It's all a smushed up cluster like the really old forums used to be before we got good vBulletin style layouts. Why does the world want to revert And on top of it, Facebook is a corrupt system that forces you to pay money just to reach the people who have already said they are interested in your stuff.

Someone take this damn soap box away from me.

I just joined m|u facebook page to see whats what but hardly any cars on there. ive not had a mini for years but this forum always produces really good threads

I was wondering about the m|u on Facebook. I'm here and on Facebook in general, but not m|u Facebook. Enough is enough.

I think, for the most part, that's why most traffic now exists on IG. FB has jumped the shark in the eyes of many businesses/organizations in the car world. My company built up over 300k followers on FB and we'll be lucky to even get 4 comments on a FB post these days...our interactions are far better on IG (for now, until FB decides to capitalize on that as well).

At the end of the day, it's soooo much easier to hop on your phone, scroll through your dashboard, and keep up to date with the latest builds/activities from your car friends on IG than to sit down at a computer and dig through numerous forum threads. And from the other end, it's way easier to snap a quick picture and upload it when you want to show people the progress you may have made on your car, or the neat car that you found at cars & coffee or whatever.

I miss the forum days like crazy, but I am sad to admit that even I have succumb to the shear simplicity and instant gratification that you can achieve by browsing IG for car things (or whatever else you're interested in). It's all right there in an easy to access, constantly updating, little app that will provide you with new content as quickly as you can consume it.

I'm with ya, Rally. I do browse on IG. I need to start posting more stuff from Tink on there. Hoping to have her on 4 wheels for the first time in a while. I just don't understand the other social media sources. Facebook is a bunch of drama and baby pictures. Twitter is all the same drama but without the baby pictures. lol. And in my line of work, Social Media is the fastest way to end your career so I tend to just stay away.

I mostly loath social media (particularly FB). I use the Twitter as a reading aggregator only by keeping it anonymous and never tweeting. I'll stick around here until we roll up the sidewalks.

Instagram is great I actually love it and have many people on there from around the world whos insta, much like mine is mainly about my car so is great to follow builds

I’ve been thinking the same thing Jon I still follow new posts and stuff, but nobody really comments on any of the old threads we used to have, like “what are you reading / watching etc” and whatnot. Sad to day most forums are probably quite dead these days.
