I'm not sure. I don't think you'd see the welds if they were done well.

My sculpture teacher was like a pro aluminum welder and he used to be able to polish all his weld joints away.

Nah, not my style as they're a bit small (15"). I was just hunting them down to re-furbish and sell . They were only $250

Sounds like that project would have some good turn around for that price. Sucks it fell through.
They are small though, if you can find them.

Same issue with the widened steelies, have you seen anyone that's running a set of SUV steelies at shows?
Is it really not suggested to run them wider than 8"?

These are pretty tight!

Why not run them wider than 8's? I haven't heard that before.
