This is the scariest scenario and I feel increasingly popular. People get so caught up in the party line deal that they miss the whole point of voting. Last election I voted for four different parties in different areas (Libertarian president, a mix of R and D in other positions and there was a Constitutional party member I think I voted to be a judge) I vote like this because I think it lends itself to the most balanced and functional government. We had a drastic swing to a one party government this last election and are now going to pay the price by loosing the ability to have opposing voices in important matters. Republicans voiced much concern and opposition over this stimulus bill which for the most part was completely dismissed by the democrats in Congress and the Senate and the press in general as them being "partisan". It's like a three-year-old saying "I'm not listening, I'm not listening, I'm not listening."

Hey! At least I got a date for my hearing to contest the assessment on my house. Hoping I can knock it down a bit and take some of the sting off that tax hike.

Good luck with that, I suggest a car on cinderblocks and some dogs under the porch, they seem to keep property values and taxes down around here.

If we actually had some conservatives (real conservatives, fiscal ones) in Washington, it would help. But alas, the religious right has taken over the republican party, and they're basically liberals themselves.

Sorry, I lol'd at that. Just the idea of the religious right being for abortion rights and all. Too funny.
