the riding on that side of Fruita is just marvelous. not difficult at all but the trails just flow so well, it totally makes you forget about the climb to get up the ridge... it's (probably) like riding that perfect wave on a surfboard... there is some major exposure on some sections but I've never had much of a problem with that; just focus on where you want to go

Pueblo, Colorado... where a nice epic ride (out of "water" at 2/3's into the ride) turned into "WTF now?" when my bike had a terminal failure (frame cracked)... did I mention it was 96F outside?

I guess cracking a frame is about like wrecking a car, not much you can do but fix/replace it to get rolling again. It's good to see you back, I was beginning to really miss seeing Marcel posts on the M|U.

not too far, just over 7 miles or so

I get myself in trouble when I try to lighten the load by not filling the 100 oz reservoir in my camelbak; damn camera feels heavy & bulky in there

maybe we can hook up in the future. this is the first trip that I used some (good) rental & demo bikes and it was a positive experience. I'm now more inclinded to fly somewhere w/o my own bike and go that route. I really want to go back to the Park City UT area but even flying into Vegas (awesome trails in Boulder City; Bootleg Canyon!)...or somewhere in Cali looks much better now...

(busted frame/seat tube... even though I'm a "smooth" rider I do have my fair share of broken bikes - all manufacturing related defects though
I had a new front triangle shipped to my hotel in Park City UT and that worked out great)
