Default Gauging interest - GROUP BUY- r53 GP style gauge faces

Hello all,
I'm arranging a group buy for GP style gauges for the R53 Mini over on minitorque. I have checked with the manufacturer and they are available in km/h for you chaps. I don't know if I'm treading on anyone's toes in posting this, so please forgive me if I am, but is anyone interested in a set for their r53?

If there is interest and no one minds, I will post up the images of them and prices and go from there.

Cheers

Any pics or information on the product? Pricing?

I'm "interested", but it's hard to say without knowing more about it.

I'll have to post it tomorrow chaps as I'm out at the moment. They're not cheap, they're 98 delivered in the UK, so it'll be a little more to get them across to you guys, but I will find out confirmed prices and post pictures tomorrow.

I have them in my car, they're the best replica gauge faces out there IMHO...

This is the post that I have made for minitorque and totalmini -

I've been in talks with Simon at Essential Mini about a possible group buy for some GP copy gauge faces for the r53.

They are the same as these ones here -

His products are pretty much exact replicas made on proper plastic, so no cheapo copies here.

Price wise we'll be looking at 98 delivered instead of his normal price of 118, which is a very good saving!
For this to happen, we need a minimum of 6 orders, so please express your interest in this thread -

1 - adammcs
2 - NA250
3 - Maverick
4 - antihero3000 (post price dependent)
5 - Forbes
6 - Bencooper_s

...

Someone on MT asked how easy they are to install -

Very easy indeed. Look at item 16 on the following image;

basically loosen your dash trim by pulling it towards you, then undo the 2 tor-x screw hold the centre console in place which, when removed, will expose the centre gauge. This is held in by 4 tor-x screws. Undo these and unclip the gauge from the harness and it's free in your hand. the perspex glass screen come off and then pry the needles off, remove old gauge face or overlay et voila.

For the rev counter, remove the two tor-x screws holding it in place, unclip the green wiring harness clip and that's free from the car. There's two philips screws on the back, remove them and your inside. Follow the above procedure and you should be good!

Please note, these are from memory, so there may be some minor differences when you come to do it, but that's it in a nutshell!

And here's some lovely shots of them in place in MartijnGizmo's car (hope you don't mind me uploading them mate!)

They look pretty nice.

Are there any options available for the Chrono Pack? Eg Tach and speedo above the steering column, with temps and pressures in the larger centre gauge?

You can have the rev counter and speedo above the steering wheel, however they can't do anything with the centre gauge on the chrono pack due to the mixed levels. The price is the same for the rev counter and speedo as the price is based on two pieces being made.

I'll be placing an order with Simon tomorrow/ Wednesday at the latest, so you have 24 hours-ish to get in on this deal!
To confirm they can be done in km/h instead of mp/h as the main reading.
Postage to the US is an additional 10.
Cheers
