Default Windsheild Eyebrow

I know that you can get a tinted eyebrow over the windsheild but I like the look of having a colored strip, white for me to match the roof. I did a quick search and couldnt find any pictures to explain this but its common on any race car. Is their a way to do this myself? I was thinking of using a hood stripe, I dont know if they are long enough

But is something like this even legal, I know it will be harder to see stop lights but I can live with that.

I think solid might be illegal... Not positive though.

I know around here you can't go lower than the AS1 line, a line that is designated on many windshields. (not sure about the Mini) It's about 3-4 inches down from the top of your windshield. You'd have to check in your area about legality. I think it must be ok around here cause there are a ton of cars running around like that. Most of the cars are pretty crappy looking though.

yep, pretty sure solid color is illegal, you'd be aiming for a ticket in no time. It would be like flying a giant flag stating "HEY COPPER, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!"

I would call your local DMV office and ask, for stuff like this you better be darn sure you're ok to do it beforehand because ignorance doesn't excuse you from any laws (believe me I know)

I know ivan has the "steve's auto clinic" eyebrow... his is white. check in the toys 4 tots thread for a pic. bob's canyon mini (non street race car) has the stripe too... not sure about the legality issue.

he'll be OK here in PA. as long as it only comes down 4" I think. I used to have on on my old car. I would suggest you just go to a vinyl guy and have him do it... it'll be cheap and easy since white is a standard color.

One of the guys here has done it. I drove his car around the Mt Panorama Race track and I found it annoying...it's not like the mini windscreen is huge!

That's what I was thinking. I can barely see out with my sun visors down. I'd hate for it to permanently be like that.

for bob's car - it is not a question with legality because it is not for street use. His decal is mandated by USTCC.

yeah I forgot about when I had "Fireballed" written accross my windshield, it didn't even cover everything but man was it anoying! I was soooo happy when I replaced my windshield and it wasn't there anymore. I couldn't see street lights or some signs, I kept having to hunch forward, ugh!

Mine is solid white, with the letters cut out. I actually like the way it functions. The factory visors are so small, they tend to let sunshine through around the mirror area, so the banner blocks out what they don't catch. Since the letters are cut out, I can still see street lights without any trouble. It's legal in California so long as it doesn't pass that line Griff mentioned.

When you have it made, make sure it's designed by someone who is experienced in designing windshield banners. The decal has to form an arc that curves upward towards the ends in order to match the contour of the windshield. Tougher to design than it looks.
