Default MCS pulling on a stock WRX....

Hm.

Well I know its kinda stupid question to ask but
Last night, I played a little chase with a bug eyes, 02-03 looking WRX.
His car looked stock with a passenger.
(i have 17% pulley and hai installed currently. )

Guess what happend, me and the Rex floored it and I stayed right behind the rex's bumper the whole time in my 4th gear, when I was about to shift to the 5th, I had to stop because of the traffic. I think I would have passed him in my 5th...

well I always believed WRX are pretty quick even when they are rolling.. maybe his AWD favored MCS's FWD I do not know.

What do you guys think? Maybe the Rex's driver sucked..

I should dyno my car and see how much it lands.. :p

Well a stock 02 wrx has 217 hp. they are a bit heavier than minis it is totally possible that you pulled a little on him.

I dont know about an srt-4 but a couple days ago an sti owner got a big surprise. I was going to handle some business wearing a dress shirt and tie...lol and he puls up and gives me the "yeah whatever" look. at first I wasnt going to bother with him but he tried one of those pull up and pull away like he was leaving me in the dust sort of things. I already had the car in the range so I just punched it and poped behind him and as hard as he tried to pull away I was all over his bumper. At the next stop he looked at the car a little differently than before..LOL Dude had to go home and tell his friends a guy in a tie in a MINI pulled his STI ! HA HA HA it was soo funny. I am sure from a stop I would get smoked if we ran the distance but I definitly gave him a wake up call.

Goes to show anything is possible.

Cool story LOL
I would LMAO if I saw a MCS sticking right behind a STI's bumper when STI was actually trying...

Oh I guess that is why the passenger in the WRX had to look back several times. Because I was just there and there and there and there never disappearing from his rear bumper. Or maybe they were checking the car out.. who knows.. oh well I guess I really did pull on the rex..

Sometimes what you think is going to be a decent performing car is Not...

I pulled up to a Trans-Am last year thinking ha ! me against a 350 of 454 Hot Rod, we pull away and i get ahead, the 4 kids in the car are hanging out the window at the next light laughing giving me the thumbs up, I say Duel Exhaust, Trans-Am i though i didn't have a chance... they laught again and tell me it's got the small block 6 ... you never know

you are right, you never know. But I do like picking on american V8 cars though they are fun to pull from the light and pull away from. They are always so surprised!

Oh, the guy in the STI was definitly trying to get me off his bumper, but then again my car isnt really stock either. There are a few SRT-4's around here, I will try to see what they got next time I see one. There is one that is TIGHT ! Not sure I want to mess with him though that car looks very modded and done right at least cosmeticly. Sounds bad ass too.

Here is a true story,

My co-worker has a new STI with a few mods.
We were playing on the street near our work and had a couple of good 1st & 2nd gear runs from a dead stop, side by side, nice 4-lane divided street in an industrial park area. I pulled him at least a car length on both runs. Now my car is certainly not stock, but I was not expecting that outcome. STIs are supposed to be BAD.

My co-worker was slightly embarrassed and in the next few months spent well over ten grand in mods to his STI, bigger turbo, all new fuel system, both electronic fuel and boost management systems, etc.
The STI has just been on the dyno recently and they "DE-TUNED" the car to 350 WHP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say we don't play anymore, that thing is wicked fast.

I drove it recently, and to tell you the truth, it is no fun to drive on the street. You try to take off easily but when that monster hits 4 grand, you had better hold on to something. I bet it is fun to drive at the track, but way too radical for the street.

Bill

the wrx is still a pretty quick car, but also keep in mind AWD loses a lot of power in top end. high speeds and understeer are a AWD cars biggest weaknesses
