Default GP Price...REASONABLE!

With all the rumors of a $35K-$40K price tag, it's nice to know it's not:

Here’s the news many of us have been waiting to see for over six months. MINI USA has announced final specifications and pricing on the JCW GP. The US market will get 415 GPs each priced at $30,650 (not including $500 destination). So that means $31,150

From motoringfile.

I know. I hope one ends up not selling out here, or on the used lot sometime in the future. I want number 2000. hehe.

It'll likely be available from back channels, but not for a few months at least.

I agree, Rally, I want to see the underbody aero, but I've already designed up a system. Hopefully I'll get to build it soon.

i dont know about a reasonable price....but i say the same thing about jcw

I just ordered my MCS and it cost like 23 i think......give me an extra 8000 and i could make a far better car than what they can offer(and mine would come with xenons etc.)

Give me $1000-$2000 more... if even that.. and mine would be faster.

Well, I was talking in the vein of the $40K predictions, which are unreasonable.

Yes, you could get more performance for a lot less, which has been said a lot, but you get a warranty and an exclusivity in the deal. I still think it's sweet.

I like how MINI makes a car, calls it "exclusive", and then builds 1999 carbon copies. Meanwhile anyone can have a MINI custom built to their exact specification.

While not exactly untrue, I'm sure you get the point I was trying to make. You can't get the color, body, interior, etc.

I didn't realize I was gonna get shot for bringing it up, though...

well... any special edition car will likely pull extra money down the road a bit... and exclusive is definately relative with MINI's... but what the hell! if I hit the powerball tonight I'll buy one for you guys to play with at M7... a shop car

I was told parts wont be readily available for the gp car, they dont want people cloning them :-) I dont blame them...I guess It may even be a vin specific thing to get the gp parts.
