Default Meet Elton the tiny Lancer

I was finally able to unload my problematic Abarth. The dealership network sucks, and the Chrysler support really shows thru. Never again will I be in a Fiat product.

Anyhow, my original Fiat dealership was doing so poorly that the local Mitsubishi dealership bought the franchise. So when they denied yet another warranty claim for the Abarth, I walked right into the Mitsubishi dealership and told them to get me into a Mirage. I took a pretty substantial hit since the Fiat resale value is basically worthless now that they have discounted them down up to $7000 on some models but I'm happier in the Mirage.

It is a 2014 Mirage ES in Infrared. 1.2L 3 cylinder engine with a 5 speed gearbox.

Slowly buying parts now, but I probably wont be doing much to it until next spring.

That car is total SlowPaul bait. I like them, and I hope that helps Mitsubishi here in the USA. Sorry to hear about the bad experience with the Fiat. Out of curiosity, what parts are available for the Mirage?

Interesting, I would have sworn Mitsubishi went out of business. I've never seen one of these on the road, but it looks cool How is the interior?

That sucks that Fiat is shooting themselves in the foot.... What a way to re-enter the market after leaving with their tail between their legs so many years ago...

Kinda bums me out with concerns that they will flub up introducing the Alfa Romeo's again as well....

Yeah, all they sell is crap these days.

This car was not actually intended to ever be offered in the US market. I guess dealers were screaming for more models to sell since the Eclipse and Montero went out of production. The Evo will be gone next year, too.

This car comes from the Thailand division of Mitsubishi. It is the direct successor to the Colt. I guess it was just the easiest car for them to federalize in a hurry.

I'm pleased with the interior. Push button start/stop with passive keyless entry, auto climate control, power mirrors and locks, Bluetooth handsfree and USB, alloy wheels and some other stuff. Pretty well optioned for a sub $15k car. It also weighs under 1900 pounds and its the second lightest production car you can buy in the US,

Their current plan is to sell less than 7,000 of these cars per year, so I doubt you will see many out and about.

That's pretty cool, I like it I swear I don't think I've seen a new Mitsibushi on the road for at least 5 years now.

There's a dealer here with like 50 lined up on the front edge of his parking lot in assorted easter-egg styled colors. It caught me off guard when I first drove by. He originally had the whole lot lined with all white Evos.

They seem to be doing well out here.

Our local dealer is down to their last Evo. I guess once its gone, that's it.

I had about 2 dozen Mirages to pick from but well over half were CVT and the ones that weren't were base models with no options. I really badly wanted the green but i'm glad now that I went with red. Gonna look hot with some gold wheels.

Wow, the Abarth was really that bad? I drove one when they came out, and fell in love with the sound. Unfortunately everything else (cheap feeling interior, cheap looking everything actually) left me feeling disappointed. Sorry to hear it was such a financial loss.

2 friends of mine have had so many problems with their Fiats, it's almost remarkable they are still on the road at all.

GL with the Mitsubishi, sounds very practical and simple.

I now have my own personal vinyl cuter. This isn't a good thing.

That looks really clean on the Mirage. The rage out west is to do this to ANY car, so it's welcoming to see this work on a car that have many scratching their heads. Overall how are you liking the car now that your a few months into it?
