It looks mean relative to other Minis, that is. Even the meanest looking Mini is still cute in the broader automotive world. You drive a cute, gay car. Live with it.

That's my feeling. At what point have things gone the other way and blackout becomes overdone. I prefer a range of looks. Just be tasteful (subjective, I know).

When i was waiting to get my Mini, i checked out minimania and the other parts stores and they were selling "crome " trim rings for the speedo, tach, a/c vents etc. I thought it might look good. Then I started reading m|u and other boards where people were decromming. I wasn't sure which way to go. I saw some of the crome trim inside another copper and it looked sharp! I am not sure if I will add interior chrome, or black out exterior chrome, but depending on the style of the owner, the modded cars look good.

I did say less cute. Besides having a cute car is great. Chicks love em. It's like carying a puppy arround with you all the time. As for if they all came blacked out. I would have a great start. I dont hate chrome, I just prefer the satin black instead. I actually debated pretty hard on whether to black out the chrome at all. I actually added the chrome interior package. Go figure?

Now don't get me started on carbon fiber...
The CF is another discussion, but there's a difference: Carbon fiber can be functional. Chrome is purely ornamental. The door sills on a Porsche Carrera GT aren't carbon fiber because they added it to make it look cool, they're carbon fiber because the entire monocoque is made out of carbon fiber.

But but... what if I use carbon fiber to add weight by double-sided-taping them to my interior?!
