If I had to put money on it, I'd guess that it won't be. The hub bore bares some relation to the PCD. You wouldn't really want a 72mm hub bore with a 112 PCD because that limits the amount of metal between the two. Chances are likely that if they felt they could lower the PCD for the smaller cars, they will probably lower the hub bore.

Let's hope so. I can't say I really buy the idea that this is entirely performance based, but it seems to be the only logical explanation so far.

Performance and money-making are most likely the reasons.

I asked a guy on total mini who has taken delivery and he said he came up with 5x115 using the following method:

Could I be cheeky & ask for a pic of the wheel with the tape measure up against it?

Thanks again!!!

I did the same measurement and I read it as 115, but I haven't test fit a 112 or 114.3 wheel to verify that my measurement wasn't incorrect. Sorry, I totally forgot to measure the hub while I was at it. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll have another chance to try one, but I'm sure by then someone else will have it verified. Those pictures are taken by me, and I have more, but at this point all you guys really need is a guarantee and I don't have that yet.

How far can wobble bolts go? Could they reduce 5x115 to 5x112? I'd hate to think that my first mod would have to be dual drilling the hubs

114.3 surely must be the closest to the 5x115 that these measurements seem to be turning out??

Could it be, in fact, that the hub is 5x114.3 after all??

As I posted earlier in this thread, they are indeed 5x112:

And everyone called me crazy for saying I thought they were going to be 5x112.
Works for me though. Plenty of wheel options now because they are in the same field as Volkswagens.
