Are they that important? I am missing a few and I just put the jack stand where the plate used to be. Seems to work ok.

SAme here, I'm missing a couple too and I didn't even use them before that. I just use the frame just inboard of the jack points.

The jack in your tool kit integrates with the jack point to lift the car. So if you need to change a wheel while traveling, you might have some difficulty.

I just stick my foot under that ****. It raises it enough. Plus, it makes my foot stronger.
