Default Blow Off Valves: Why Don't Mini's have them?

I am asked this all the time by people when I tell them the MCS is Turboed and Supercharged. I know I read on NAM that it's really not cost beneficial or necessary to put a Blow Off Valve on but what are the real reasons? Can someone help me answer this question intellegently?

The stock MCS is not turboed. Are you thinking of those with the kits?

? turbo'd and supercharged? Only if you have added the turbo. Other wise an S has a supercharger ONLY and a cooper is naturaly aspirated. the 07 cars will have a turbo and no supercharger.

maybe you got turbo/ supercharging confused with forced induction in general?

I don't know what it was. I think I read an article about a car and it mentioned having an upgraded turbo. I guess I thought it meant upgraded from stock. That or the thread on NAM that was pretty legnthy so I didn't read it all. Plus my wife's got a Turbo Beetle and I coulda just put the 2 cars together...

blowoff valves are used on turboed cars to mantain the turbine rotating at high rpm...so ready to push power to the engine when you need it...
avoiding the so called turbo lag...and avoiding turbine to go low on rpm...

a turbo needs high exaust pressure to keep rotating at high speeds...

when you lose your foot...exaust vapours are low...
so are the turbine's rpm...the blowoff valve acts like a barrier
on the exausts...and keeps them in high pressure to help the turbine keep rotating at high rpm...

think i've repeated the same concept 2 times...but that's it! :p

the mini is supercharged...
and the supercharger is not moved by exaust vapours...but by the engine itself
that starts the SC movement...and it keeps rotating by the power produced by the engine...

so the blowoff valve on a mini, as the others said...it's pretty useless

Yeah, but if we had BOVs, we could do this.

The car has a stock deverter valve ... keep it that way. when you go to an aftermarket blow off valve the ECU starts to wonder where the air that is supposed to be re-routed into the intake is going (this happens b/c the BOV vents it out to the atmosphere). This creates issues with the car being rough between shifts. and can throw the check engine light. If the aftermarket BOV sticks, say bye bye engine. When a BOV is used on a supercharged engine it sounds more like a fart ,then the pop that comes from a turbo engine.
