Me thinks we've just encountered the Rain Man of working models.

And I have to assume he's not married. Could you imagine trying to convince your spouse that you've got to go spend the weekend in the garage milling a 1/3 scale flat 12 motor or handcrafting headlight lenses (no dear, it won't hurt the oven I promise)?

Anyway, all pondering/posturing aside that man and his machine are marvelous. I hope he finds someone as passionate for his models and some reward for the work (That's 3.5 hours per day every day for 15 years).

He said that it took him 15 yrs, mostly because he was poor. A full scale model would cost more than he could afford in his lifetime.
