COLUMBUS, Ohio - A 14-year-old boy who was throwing eggs at cars along with two other teenagers was shot and killed by someone who had been in a sport utility vehicle that was hit, police said.

Danny Crawford was killed by a gunshot wound to his upper body, Franklin County Coroner Brad Lewis said. He died in an alley on the city's west side early Saturday, authorities said.

The teens were throwing eggs at cars when an SUV that was struck chased them, Detective Tim Huston said. The vehicle stopped and several gunshots were fired, he said.

Police were looking for the shooter, who fled in the SUV, Sgt. Dana Norman said. The SUV believed to be involved was found a short time later near where Crawford died.

The other teens were not hurt, police said.

Hahah, I guess that'll teach kids to throw eggs at cars. I once saw kid on a freeway catwalk spitting at cars below. As I drove under him, I flipped him off, but man, he's lucky I wasn't one of those guys in that story!

In a world where people are shot for failing to use a turn signal, I'm not the least bit suprised. Of course the driver of the SUV just screwed themselves over for at least the next 20 years.

When I lived in Italy, there were a whole bunch of people killed on the Autobahn in Germany when some teenagers went on a 1 month rampage of throwing boulders off the overpass.

What would have happened if they threw an egg at your granny in her Olds and it scared her enough to swerve over and side swipe the new mom and her twins killing all involved. o_o I have mixed feelings about this...

When you put it like that the teens deserve the same fate as the local Sniper who was shooting drivers and windshields on the interstate a few months ago.

Oh yea, i heard about that one. Remember the one who was shooting up Washington. It took several days to find them. Apparently it was father and son going at it like Grand Theft Auto on PlayStation. Unreal man, what an effed world we live in.

Anyway, as for that story, even though it's a little too extreme, it does send the message across. Funny, the only thing we have to worry here in Montreal, is if our overpass's completely fall or crumble on the highway. Not bad.

It's all about pepper spray or stun guns in that situation. That'll teach 'em.

How would you feel if it had been your kid? How would you have dealt with it had he not been shot?
I am very, very sorry to say, but his friends will think thrice before chuckin anything at moving vehicles.

I used to be the egging king when I was that age. I'm 35 now and hate kids like that. I do think that shooting the kid for it is unexcusable, not saying that it was right to egg in the first place, that could cause someone to crash.
