wow first I heard of that; when I had the r56 front brakes, SS lines and rotors put in, the MINI tech (who is now an Independent Shop) told me to get the ATE Superblue rather than the stock fluid; and he worked for MINI for almost 10 years before going out on his own, so I'd think he'd know what's what. Gonna ask him if he's heard about this for sure............

Yea it seemed a bit ridiculous to me when i heard this as well so i figured id inquire on here, also called my friend who has been a mini service advisor for many years in multiple dealerships and has also worked with ddm. He gave me the green light stating he has never heard of a single issue caused by non oem brake fluid/or ate fluid but non oem coolant can cause serious issues due to the high operating temp of the mini engines.

Hahah, this is pretty hilarious considering Ate makes the OEM MINI brake calipers.

Amsoil 600 series is the best fluid out there. This statement comes from many cars of all different types and classes that we work on at my shop. ATE Super Blue is the next best...

Hey really quick if your doing this yourself, I can give you valuable information.
DONT DRAIN ALL THE FLUID COMPLETELY OUT!!!! you will get bubbles in the ABS and it's almost impossible to get them out, took me an hour in total and you CANNOT get it totally firm by doing it the old school way of pumping the pedal while a buddy bleeds the system. Second buy a vacuum bleeder it makes life 1000% easier and if you do get bubbles in the ABS system it's been the most effective way I have found to get them out. Hope this helps dude and best of luck!!! ![]()

In our time attack car we have boiled the super blue, we have yet to do it with the amsoil. I agree that some of the amsoil products are garbage. For example DO NOT use their break in oil!!!
