Default Abe's R56

Hey everyone,

Always been a huge fan of Minis so I decided to take the plunge. Been a VW guy for as long as I could drive and this will be my first car outside of the VAG family. My baby for the past few years was a 98 GTI VR6 in Silver Arrow. Had plenty of fun and frustration with it but time has come for something that can double as a commuter so I have passed it on to a friend of mine who I know will take care of it.

Now onto the Mini. Loved the look of R53 but really wanted something newer. Ended up getting a great deal on a certified 2009 Dark Silver MCS with 30k on it. It's warrantied to 100k so I'm hoping Mini is flexible with modifications.

Cold Weather Package
Piano Black Interior
Multi Function Steering Wheel

Sorry all I have are iPhone pics thus far.

As I've learned well in my many years in VWs, my first mod will be coils. Not sure what to get yet. I've had great experience with H&Rs but I'm curious about the Megan Racings. Seems like they have a nice price/feature ratio.

I have a set of Borbet Type C's in 17x7.5 that I recently refinished that will go on following coils.

Hopefully I will be able to show some good progress in this thread very soon. Getting alot of great inspiration from folks on this board.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice. Look forward to seeing the progress. And I think most people with the Megan's have been pretty happy with them.

You look pretty low haha. I say this every time but I'd like to keep this car fun and driveable aka not rubbing on every tiny bump.
