I feel like you have a different sun than everyone else. The light you capture is insane.

I personally struggled to properly expose the black car on a bunch of laps. I had my camera setup to shoot the white car well so when the black car came around I was shooting too dark and losing a lot of the front end's contours. The white car has a beautiful gloss paint that almost glows in the right light. The flat black paint is the exact opposite as it gobbles up any light and struggles to get any highlights in direct sun. Mike was able to snag some good ones of the black car so I focused on editing my white shots and he edited a lot of the black ones. We both have shots of the other one that we didn't post, but it's important to get a good balance of both cars in the article without having too many photos. ![]() I bet the black car shoots amazing well if we ever luck out and get a race during a really cloudy day or a rainy one where the light is diffused. |

Everything happens so quickly in ALMS that I usually meter with the camera and fine tune from there. The flat black definitely throws it for a loop though.
