Went back to the stock tail lights:

Split them open with 2 butter knives and rubbed of the chrome with some alcohol. They are sealed up again and drying as we speak:

did you heat them? and no paint? chrome just rubs off to reeveal black plastic?

No heat, that only works on the facelift-tails AFAIK. Made a small opening with a small screwdriver and a hammer, cracked it open from there with the butter knives. And idd, the chrome just rubs off to reveal gloss black plastic.

In the last picture of your car, you have the amber centers, but after you tore them apart you have the clear centers. Were you able to mod them to get them clear, or did you buy the euro tails?
