Harman Kardon setup for the F56.

Did the R56 have a set of subs under each front seat?

I don't think so. My clubman had the upgraded option and no sub there.

MINI's sound systems have to be some of the worst on the market. Even a $15k Jetta's system sounds leagues better.

They really are atrocious. They should just add the H/K system into the base model and raise the price $750.

So I drove an almost fully optioned (to the tune of $36k!) Cooper S yesterday/ Thunder Grey metallic (liked it), leather and cloth seats, parking assist, backup camera, I-Drive, HUD,LED lights with turn assist) etc., etc., Liked it, a lot different from my '04, but still very nice. More refined, smoother, less road feel, and a "heavier" feel.

Popped the door and looked at label and its 3620 GVWR- so that went up a good bit. Just the short amount of driving I did and the ballasts for the LED headlights were pretty damn hot (those light assemblies are huge by the way!).The "twin power turbo" felt nice and had very good pickup. Was an automatic that also had flappy paddle shifters, (meh).

All in all thought it was well done; the front bumper is atrocious with that big plastic bar down the middle of it, brake ducts were a nice touch (need to go closer to brake instead of just in the vicinity in the wheelwell). Took some pics on my phone, I'll try to put them up later when I get home

I saw two of the new gen at the newest mini dealer in the area, Mini of Valencia.
I just don't know where mini is going these days .
Bigger is not always better.
I was happy when I bought my R-53.
When the R-56 came out I was happier .
Seeing the new car I am just about ecstatic
I am sure its going to b a great seller and lots of people will like them but the common comment was that the new P car was in town .
