Oh... and as a bonus, my wife just got a decent paying full time job. You know what that means? I found that "more money" I've been looking for.

Looking good.

Thanks guys. I'm really trying to dig in here, but money is so tight lately. Might have to delay the motor a few months until I make rank and the Mrs. starts getting paid.

But with that... here's some pictures.

Unfortunately, these freaking awesome wheels with brand new tires (still have the nipples) are for sale.

Better shot of the car and paint. Might mount some hardware to get a feel for how it's gonna look.

And any paint detailer will recognize the obligatory "reflection shot". haha

Also.. Not sure what a clean, restored, perfectly functioning brake booster is worth, but mine is for sale.

I was going to re-use it on Tink, but I'm thinking of going a different route, so this one is up for sale. Comes with all the linkage, etc that you see.

Now the real fun part begins. Waiting for bodywork is always the worst. Putting it together is the fun part.

Yeah. It's off the wheels again. I'm still disassembling. hahaha. I'm dropping the subframes, repairing them in-house, and then possibly getting them powder coated along with some other parts. Then I'll be selling my entire 8.4" brake setup. Calipers, rotors, hubs, brand new bearings and ball joints... everything except axles. I'm upgrading.

Not going titanium. I don't need the strength of titanium. But I am going with the next best thing. 7075 aircraft grade aluminum. CNC machined from a single billet, and has a bunch of nice upgraded features. Hard anodized, 3 bolt steering arms, and the best feature is they accept metro ball joints which are beefier, and don't require you to lap them or shim them yourself.

Rally, you have first dibbs. I'll post on here when they are ready to go out and we can talk. Might be relatively soon, because this is what I did last night.

Boom. Subframes out.

Can you give a basic explanation on the whole lapping/shim process with ball joints? I know it's a big issue that people have and people have had blow-outs that lead to some gnarly damage. Knowing that I'll end up going pretty low, it's been something I've been mulling over. I didn't know there were hubs that negated the need for it all. Are the ball joints more suitable for lowered heights?
