As it was using quite a bit of oil (1 quart every 500 miles) it was time to do a top end rebuild. After the leak test it showed compression loss on the nr6 cylinder. After the engine teardown it was obvious
![]() Everything cleaned and 6 new valves ![]() Beek had some sports cams laying around so why not put them in while everything was opened up. Which resulted in is pretty good figures. ![]() So it has 964 power in a lighter chassis. Also installed the gearbox that I had build for the white one. Very short gears so goes like stink. Won't go above 125mph though ![]() And what is a 911 without some e50's ![]() ![]()

How were your head studs, BTW?
Did they say what would cause that sort of valve damage? |

Mine needed new valve guides and the timing chain guide and some of the rockers were degrading. Everything else was good. Still haven't dynoed it yet though.
Lookin at your new wheels....One thing I like about the torsion bar cars is you can get better offsets for wheels. Stupid coil-springs ![]() |

On the 911 it's part of the rear deck lid. On the 964 it's part of the rear window AFAIK so a lot harder to remove.
