Yeah but those turns are awkward for sure. I can say that because as a (former) trail builder I have made similar mistakes...

They have two halfpipe sections at this area, and both of them have the same thing. You come up and out of the halfpipe, make almost a u-turn on the level ground, then drop back into the halfpipe - at every turn. No way to keep speed up, and in fact you have to pedal out of it. I wish I could just carve from side to side. Still, they're cool, fun sections. In fact the entire area is pretty killer. Hard to believe you can get such great riding just a short drive from DC.
