His lights are similar. But not the same setup. I'm mounting mine deeper with shrouds to increase light output. Similar projects, but hopefully when I'm done there will be a distinct difference.

They look like the off the shelf ones with a halogen bulb behind a projector style lens with no reflector They don't work at night.

I thought that was the point of projectors. that they do not need reflectors around the bulb to get the light out.

The ones off eBay are just projector looking. You would have to see them to understand why they don't work.

The picture above looks like it was taken pre-retrofit.

He did a nice job on his retrofit. Gives me some more ideas for my own!

Morimoto 35W ballasts

Relay harness for an H4 wired car with 80amp relays.
3" ZKW-R lens replacement for cleaner cutoff and higher lumen output
Possibly ordering some shrouds to finish the project with a more OEM look.
nice choice of equipment, near identical to mine minus the ballast and shrouds.

FYI, depending on the type of housing you got, they use cement to join the glass to the housing. with that in mind, you can't perform the bake/heat process to remove the glass and use shrouds. just want to point this out before any frustration.

The lenses look like they are on there with a clear silicon adhesive. Hopefully it's not cement. I haven't heated them up enough yet to try it out yet though. Hmm... looks like I'll be in the garage tonight.
