I got the Tail light and side marker black out kit from Moss Motors. I didn't de-chrome the inside bit... I guess you would have to take apart the light assembly. You can just barely see the chrome, or maybe I just don't notice it now... I will post a little bigger picture probably Tuesday, I am out of town for the weekend.

That was it... You just have to push on them. It really doesn't take a lot to get them off.

Well i called Aesthetic Creations yesterday... Click the image to open in full size.

It looks like I am NOT getting the Door Handles and Headlight Rings. Mike said that he has been having problem with his Carbon Fiber guy, fired him and He is trying to get someone else to make them. He said the last batch (3rd round) he just received will be shipped out this week. The People for batch 3 have been waiting 6 months.

Really? 6 months... Seriously... Wow... Click the image to open in full size.

He said that he could not promise when I could get the parts. I have already paid over $300 for them... I ordered them the week after I got back from the Dragon... And now he doesn't even have a guy to make the parts. The new person that Might be making the parts has to make a prototype to see if it is even acceptable. Is it really that difficult that people have to wait 6+ months for an overlay. Seriously?

Several people told me (Waylen included), "Good luck getting the parts." I see why now. So far Aesthetic Creations has not done so well in my book. Their stuff looks amazing, but It just takes too long to get. Click the image to open in full size.

They are still taking orders for the Carbon Fiber parts... but, THEY HAVE NO CARBON FIBER GUY!!! Click the image to open in full size.

I guess I will be asking for my money back and getting Waylen to do my Brakes...

your MINI looks fantastic. I really like the Ghost Stripes.

Quick question... How did you black out your door handles ( did you take the off to do it)?

yes. there is one Allen head bolt holding it on inside the door. It was a complete bear to get it off and back on again. I had tried to paint it without removing but it just ended up flaking etc.

I have also been working on blacking out most/all of the chrome on the MINI long before I was a member here on M|U. It looks something like this now:

Click the image to open in full size. Click the image to open in full size. Click the image to open in full size.

Currently, the belt line has also been blacked out, and I'm looking for relatively inexpensive 'Cooper' side markers. (The only ones I have found are on OutMotoring & they're quite expensive: $40 for the housings & $35 for the lenses)

I have pretty much taken everything apart to get the black parts on, so if anyone still needs help, feel free to ask. Most of the stuff comes off real easy once you know how to do it.

As for the joey mod, I believe it would only look good on the Xenon lamps like Mr.GB's, but a similar (if not better) effect can be achieved by simply tinting the whole headlight lens. Personally, it's a much more tedious task to remove & bake the headlights, versus just wrapping them up. I deliberated both options, and ended up tinting. My logic was that the tint can be removed if it doesn't look good, and a joey mod can hardly be undone. In the end, the tint looks better on the halogens than the joey mod!
