Lightbulb 15% reduced pulley OPINIONS?!?!

HELLO!
I am looking into purchasing the 15% reduced pully from mini-madness. On the website it says there is a 15-20 hp increase At THE WHEELS. I was wondering is anyone has installed a pulley in their mini and how they feel about it. I called a garage and talked to someone who deals exclusively with minis and installs pulleys. He said it would be a waste of my money to purchase it, he said with his experience with minis the pulley did not improve hp on the dyno. Just said it would make a different noise.
Let me know if you can help me.
Thanks,
McCraigo

lies! do it! it definitely adds more power.... it's both a rotational mass and size reduction, so a high school physics course will tell you that it definitely adds power... the pulleys upgrade is probably the most HP bang-for-the-buck you can do to the R53

The mechanic you spoke with is likely an idiot that knows little about MINI's. One of the rock-solid best bang for the buck mods you can do to an R53 is putting a 15% pulley on it. Where are you located?

Not sure who that mechanic is but knows squat!
Not sure I recomend that pulley though. WMW or Craven would be my recommendation.
Best R53 bang for the buck!!!!!!!!

You sure the mechanic wasn't talking about an air intake?

Yes I know. I'm just saying it sounds like the mechanic is describing an intake and not a pulley (no hp but noise).

Just say no to Alta.

I second the WayMotorworks or Craven. Just make sure whoever does it knows what they are doing and includes a belt change, tensioner check (add a tensioner stop for good measure) & a step colder plugs.

i'll disagree with you, respectively.. im not the biggest fan of alta regarding their modification style and marketing but the v2 pulley is a good product, i had the MM and Helix and its all pretty much the same

They also undercut their own vendors. I didn't say anything was wrong with the pulley since as you mention they are all very similar.

Support the little guys who've been there for the MINI community and are proven - WMW, Craven, Helix, DT, etc...

Don't drink the Alta coolaid.

Thumbs up Pulley FTW....

Biggest bang for the buck mod out there!!! You WILL feel the added power, no dyno needed to see the improvement. I bought my 15% pulley from Outmotoring....
