Default My new driving lights

Got a set of PIAA 540's for MINI Cooper from Super Autobacs yesterday night.

checking to see if this will work

apparently this is the most stable with the mounts given

after mounts were installed, had to drill through the lips holding the front grill.

This was meant for the stock grill, not the aero grill, so i had to cut the plastic honeycomb, file and finish

decided the safest place for the harness extension is behind the heat shield

heres the extension coming from behind the heatshield. only took off one plastic screw/ rivet thing.

zip tied it along what ever secure thing I could find, and through the factory grommet, after I widened it. I disassembled the plug connectors everytime they went through somehting small.

around the steering column

around and under the CAI, then i taped the fuse and relay together and attached it to the CAI. I attached the ground to the screw head to the left of the CAI.

I decided I wanted the lights to be independent of the highbeams, so i ran the power wire and the tap meant for the highbeams to the battery post.

realized at this time that i completely forgot to make a hole in the firewall so i abandoned the project, stuffed the extra wires in the Air intake, and went to play Resident Evil 5. If i ever need the damn thing switched on i'l just open the bonnet and find where i left the switch.

yah trip, back in the day ('03) when I used to go to meets, it was easy to tell who was pinoy, they were the ones who snapped pictures of my license frame.

Nice! I went with the (too?) big PIAA 520s. Put some clear vinyl on the lenses, so no need for guards.
