I was just wondering, what is the difference between a motorcylce helmet and an auto helmet?

Yes I have a dark silver mini with blk roof. I was tryingto duplicate the balck/ drk silver / blk pattern. When i do the indoor car shows part of the display is putting the helmet and driver suit on the roof of the car. A white helmet just stood out too much.

One big reason stands out. You are in a crash, your cars is on fire do you want your head wrapped in nylon or NOMEX many guys get a bit miffed when they try to do a track day and are told that their $ 1,000 motorcycle helmet is not allowed. A motorcycle helmet has no fire issues so they are lined with nylon where a proper auto helmet has nomex. I am sure there are other structural issues as well but the fire issue is the main one as far as being allowed on a track goes.

I am useing a Bieffe F-1 and find it very comfortable. Proper auto helmet with Nomex interior. I also use a nomex balaclava, it is an easier way to keep the interior of the helmet clean and washable to keep it smelling clean.

Back in the day and I mean WAY back in the day Bell had a add campain wich was , "If you have a $29 head get a $29 helmet " I always thought it was a great way to look at it and I still remember it to this day That includes the 60's and I don't remember much else from that decade

yeah I hear a, my helmet isnt a $49 helmet but I am pretty sure its a motorcycly helmet. I will look at it tomorow and see if its nylon or nomex. The brand is Bieffe but I am not sure of the model. Its comfortable and matches my car but safety is way more important so I better get on checking it out and replacing if needed before the next track event.

I think the sticker inside the helmet you are looking for is a Snell SA 2000. This will get you into ANY auto event. The MA rated helemts are for Motorcycles. SOME groups will let you run with those but not all. Hollis's link has all the good info on this.
