Question for the joey modders, did you sand and prime or just sprayed with the krylon paint that doesn't need primer?

wow 6mins at 230...i did 5 mins at 200 and it turned the lens all yellow, cracked and made the lens fall inside to the reflector. I kinda laughed when i saw the state of it, but could i split the thing open....no way lol

I kinda wanna do this again, maybe with newer lights...as its an awesome mod.

Sanded and primed, but thats because mine are Space Blue, not a Krylon color.

I was sceptical at first seeing how much the xennons cost to replace and the extent of labor to disassemble. Looking back now after I did it, I'm happy that I did. The look is astonishing compared to lense tent. If you have the newer version of xennons with the round projectors, I'd say do it because they are some what easy to take apart. One lense came off without heating but the other was being peske. Heated that one at 200 for 5 mins and that did the trick.

I used the Krylon Satin Black without sanding and priming. Looks really good with no blemishes.
