Default San Diego Thursday Evening Social Paddle

If there are any kayakers in the San Diego area, Aqua Adventures sponsors a Thursday evening paddle, 6-8 PM on San Diego Bay.

It's free with your own boat or $15 to rent one of theirs and paddle along.

Aqua Adventures is on Quivara Way, on the boat basin, off of West Mission Bay Blvd.

Here's the link:

I know Jacques, they don't have Hobie kayaks there, but you could bring a carload down for people to use!

Oh, and Phil's Barbecue is about 10 minutes away for post paddle meals!

It's every Thursday evening, except for holidays (like Thanksgiving). We went last night. Kind of a rush to get down there, but two hours of paddling all around Sail Bay in the dark. Coolest moment was coming up on the Bahia Belle paddlewheeler, as she was all decked out in lights. Water was very smooth, but incoming tides meant a tougher paddle getting back to the boat basin.

If you were using Mirage Driven kayaks you would have had a much easier time (since its way more efficient than paddling - sorry had to do it!)

Yes. Wetsuits or just paddle jackets.

If I had a nice outboard motor I would have an easier time as well! There are always a ton of Mirage driven Hobies out there, usually anglers or tandems.

Sure, just let us know. We've only done one so far but it was fun.

Bump for this event.

Sun is out longer, water is warming up and this is still a fun event. Same details at the web site above, although the cost might be a bit more, since San Diego has raised their user fees to places like kayak rental shops. They also rent wetsuits if you plan on getting wet.

Since we've postponed this month's M&G, who wants to do this?

I tried Kayaking once. My dad thought it would be fun. Unfortunately we starting at the wrong end of the river, with 50mph winds against us and heavy rain. It was a blast
