Do you have the old one that you could put in so that you can take the time and build the one that you want? it would be a waste of money to build it twice.

Oh yeah, how much does all of that bolt on stuff cost, so I can add more to the list of pipe dream projects :-)

Well it's a serious pipe dream at this point for Tink. I haven't planned around or budgeted for this mod and thus, it just won't be happening... yet. I agree that there would be some money/time wasted if I don't do it now. But that's always the case. Haha. Have to prioritize or else this car will never get back on the road.

Podifold is the manifold. It's what makes this all possible. It's configured to work on a 1275 block and uses many common bolt ons to complete a kit. He does not sell a whole kit to keep costs down. But it's the absolute best option I've seen for supercharging a mini. A LOT of time and engineering has gone into this. He's getting a dyno tune soon and I've been talking with him about availability of his tunes as a baseline. He's cool with sharing his tunes to get people on a good baseline for their own tuning.

Pretty great guy and a cool idea

Thanks for the link, not that I will ever be able to afford to build one, it is nice to know what it would take.

So I probably owe some sort of update. I've been slacking off because the wife and I decided to pay off some of her student loan debt with my new raise. Since then, we've been replenishing the savings and I will soon be back to buying those beloved car parts. But the next few purchases are going to be expensive.

Built, ported, and flowed head, fuel injection kit, SCCR gearbox internals, SC drop gears, 3.1:1 Final Drive Ratio gears, and many other small but similar purpose parts. Can you tell what phase of the build is next yet? Haha. Hopefully the next two paychecks get me there. We'll see what all comes up. Thanks for sticking with me, guys.

Life happened again, guys. But it looks like it's time to kick this build off again.

I was really on the fence with the Kent 286 and 296, but I talked to a lot of people and they all recommended the 286 for streets because of peak power vs RPM range. I won't be redlining it all the time to get the benefits of the 296.

Haha you and I have both been working on our classics in spurts and then disappearing. Excited to see you back at it.

I think the 286 was a good suggestion. I spoke with an a-series builder for a long time about the ideal "hot-street" build and that's the one he recommended

Rally, you're right about that. I'm always looking for updates on other builds. I'm just so stinking swamped at work that when I get home I'm already dead and the idea of being in the garage for hours while it's 110°F outside isn't appealing. haha. But it will happen.

I've been trying to get everything stockpiled so I can take care of the engine in one swoop. The idea being that I'll be able to pay a machinist to do the work I can't, then build it up and balance the whole assembly. Once that is done, I can bring it home and attach it to the transmission that I'll be building myself in the garage (lets see how that goes. haha)

With this order, I'll probably find a local place that can ceramic coat the exhaust parts and then get everything set up for the engine builder.

Up next is finding the perfect head for the 5 port setup that isn't over valved for my setup. Then a massive order from Specialists-Components and MED engineering.

I'll keep you guys posted as always.

Yup...exactly. By the time 5pm rolls around and work is over, our shop is like an oven cooking in the afternoon sun. I have never sweat more in my life than when I was dropping my subframe last week. It was ridiculous.

Any progress is good though....keep it up

Engine build is a go. Dropped off the majority of the fun stuff at the machine shop today. Should have a built 1380 come mid October.
