Thanks guys. Haha, only immediate problem I see getting reimbursed by the city is that the wheels aren't DOT stamped since they are Japanese imports.

I highly doubt they'll look that far into it. I'd just take some basic photos and gather up a total on the cost to repair them and go see the city about it.

I doubt they even know that they're aftermarket wheels let alone not-DOT

I like the new Wheels. Why such huge tires though? What are the Specs of the wheels?

That sucks! take pics of the damage, the messed up part of the road, print a receipt and take it to the city. Carlos on here did that and the city paid him back for a rim he bent.

Huge tires? I wouldn't exactly call a either a 215/40/ or a 205/40 huge.

I am running a larger tire in front because I can fit it and I like to have a balance between performance and looks.

Damn dude this blows. I was really looking forward to seeing these on. Hopefully you can get something worked out with the city.

I should actually try the same since I got a crack in one of my barrels too.

The damage

Will contact the city next week.

Looks to me like it should be easily repairable. It will have wait for a while though. I am a few weeks away from finishing Grad school and I have more then exhausted my allowable time/money for this right now.

Might be able to revisit this and get it sorted in June/July.

Yep, those can be fixed. That's very good news. Repairs should cost around $100/wheel. Get a quote in writing from your local MINI dealers wheel guy and add the cost of mounting and balancing tires. You already know what the tires cost. I can't see why they wouldn't pay for that.

Thanks for the response, is this 0n the lowest setting? They look more than low enough for me here:

Do you know what version you have? Any idea which springs you are using as they have a couple of options.

They are capable of going a little lower then that actually.

I am pretty sure mine are the latest version. 7kg springs front and rear

Looking here: http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/applicati...lubman-07.html

Do you have the MA or RH Version?

The MA are 7/6Kg/mm Inverted BMW Mini 07+ R56
The RH are either 7/5Kg/mm Mini Cooper R56 2007+ or 7/6Kg/mm Mini Cooper R56 2007+
