boring?!

that sounds sexy as heck. there's only a few pure white mini's out there and i'm sure what you described will be incredible

If you are going to be making a R56 version bumper for the R53 and I still have mine I would pick one up for sure.
Great start to an epic thread!

Yes once I have finished sculpting it, then it will be made open and for sale to the market to be sure. Probably towards the autumn I think

Epic build. Quite a few years back Jomo and I talked about how cool it would be to chop a MINI, glad to see somebody take on the challenge!

Very cool!

Finally!
Your story in Modern MINI was/is one of my top picks in every issue... They don't give you much print real-estate, so please update your progress here as much as you can, 'cause your ride is awesome!

Good to hear, its my pick too and also the item I read first I do not get much space and have to keep the progress behind where I am because if I go away on business and do nothing for a month the issue catches up a little more each time. I hope that reading the blog does not taint the issues for you.

I keep all my records in my blog with many more photos than I would ever have the chance to put in the magazine or even in forums. I was undecided at the start if I would show the build or keep it under wraps. Kind words has kept me going though and it has been a real labour of love so far and aim to have a rolling shell before October so I can spend the autumn putting the engine and parts in ready for 2012 shows...

I will say the chop has not been easy the mini is a pain to chop. the car roof skin is about 4" longer and wider now and its been quite costly sorting out all the custom parts such as glass but I am getting there. May next problem will be will I paint it or will I pay someone? I have done everything so far with some small exceptions like engine balancing and powder coating but I have the facility to paint well the equipment and a garage
