Default 2014 F1 Discussion Thread

2014 is upon is. The count down to Melbourne has begun. Lots of new rules, new driver pairings, and 22 big turbo's.

As of this post we are still waiting on Sauber, Caterham, and Marrussia to announce their 2014 drivers. Everyone else is accounted for. I'm absolutely over the moon on the Force India line up of Hulkenberg and Perez. Two of my favorite drivers on the same team!

I'll be telling to see how testing goes next month on which of the new engines will have an advantage. My money is on the Mercedes motor, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Go Force India!!

Have final images of the cars been released yet? The engines look amazing. Seems like next year could be a fun one to watch.

Cars are not released yet.
I'm also looking forward to 2014 because of all of the changes in engines etc.

Michael Schumacher suffers serious head injury while skiing in the French Alps.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/29/sport/...f1-motorsport/

Quote:
Michael Schumacher, the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, is in critical condition after suffering severe head trauma in a skiing accident in the French Alps on Sunday, hospital officials said.

The 44-year-old German, who retired from the elite motorsport for the second time in 2012, fell and hit his head on a rock, said the director of the Meribel resort where Schumacher was skiing.

Schumacher was in a coma when he arrived at the University Hospital Center of Grenoble and required immediate brain surgery, hospital officials said in a written statement.

...

Resort director Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte said the incident happened while Schumacher was skiing off-piste (on unmarked slopes) Sunday morning in the mountains of Meribel resort between Georges Bauduis Piste and La Biche Piste.

Gernignon-Lecomte told CNN the racing star was wearing a helmet when he hit his head. Rescuers reached him minutes later and airlifted him to a nearby hospital, he said.

Yeah, he's still such an important figure in the motorsports world. Hopefully he pulls through and makes a full recovery...

It's like everything in front of the front axle got too hot and is starting to sag.
