Default SC replacement…can I reuse the pulley?

I have a 65K mile 2006. First mod I did was the pulley (Cravenspeed 15% that I won as an AMVIV door prize). Now the car is making a funny growl above 2500 rpm and my mechanic thinks it's the blower bearing. (Given that my 3rd party extended warranty expires in 5 weeks I feel like I won the lottery!)

All that said, if it is the blower and it gets replaced, can I reuses the pulley from the dead one or should I buy a new one. Would rather not if I can help it but if i have to…

Want to stick with 15%…which brand is recommended?

Also, any "expensive" repair/service I should have them look at or do while the front end of the car is off on somebody else's nickel?

Thanks!

You should be able to re use the aftermarket pulley .

That being said there is a possibility that the dealer may void your warranty on the blower because of the pulley.

This is all dependent on how the dealer views the modification . I give you 50/50 odds as some have no issue with pulley mods and others do .

Before I dropped it off expecting to have it covered I would perhaps give the dealership a " what if " call first describe the issue and see of you can get a feel for how they might handel it .

Valid point. That said, it's an aftermarket warranty and an independent mechanic. I have no concerns about coverage.

You should still be careful because the third party warranty company may send out an inspector to check the car before the work is done, for this specific reason. Trust me, I should know. I have one too. That said, my dealer helps me conceal mods I've done to the best of their ability, so you might be ok. Third party warranty companies are know. For sending out inspectors before approving jobs this costly to them.

That said, have your mechanic also check any seals and gaskets while he's in there (or before, if possible, to add to the list and possibly distract the inspector from the pulley. Hopefully they will send an inspector before disassembly (if at all).

Good luck!

Also: they might not approve the work at all unless the part is totally dead. If it's only making sounds there is a possibility they do not approve the work until it totally dies.

All valid points but not a concern…

As for the other part of my questions…any thoughts about other things to do or inspect since the front end will be off the car?

These are easier checked on service mode:
Crank position sensor/water pump O-rings, crank shaft seal, oil pan gasket, injector o-rings
Belt tensioner & idlers
Thermostat & coolant temp sensor
Axle & steering boots
A/C condenser wash
